Rodmersham is proud to be a Happy Mind School, part of the national myHappymind programme designed to support children’s mental health, well-being, and resilience. Rooted in positive psychology and neuroscience, the programme is woven throughout school life and fully embraced by our children, who love the engaging and practical activities. Through fun, age-appropriate sessions, pupils learn valuable strategies for managing emotions, developing a growth mindset, building resilience, and practising gratitude. The impact is visible not just in the classroom but also at home, as children confidently use the language and tools they’ve learned to navigate challenges. At Rodmersham, myHappymind isn’t just a curriculum—it’s a joyful, empowering part of daily life that helps every child thrive.

As part of our commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing, we celebrate Happy Mind Mondays at Rodmersham. Each Monday morning, children begin the week with a calming walk through the orchards, where they can enjoy nature, chat with friends, and gently ease into the day. Back at school, they share some warm toast, talk about their weekends, and have the opportunity to express any worries they may have. This relaxed and supportive start sets the tone for the day’s myHappymind session and journal writing, helping children feel settled, connected, and ready to learn.
